The OPPO R7 will be launched tomorrow with grandeur we are pretty sure, the China brand seeks to make an impression in the local market and what we have seen and heard so far, they have. Out of obscurity just a couple of years back, the once MP3 maker is now a serious player in the mobile device market having launched some nifty models and gaining market confidence they are now looking to inch away shares from the top android players.
Having tested the OPPO devices and also other China made brands like Xiaomi and the more established ones like Lenovo, one common trait they all posses is the ability to pack high performing components and selling them at very affordable price points. This we can only attest to probably the volume they are being manufactured in, economic of scale- the more you make the lower the cost of manufacturing. They are legitimate contenders and OPPO is upping its ante having recently signed on as mobile partners for FC Barcelona a deal that must have cost quite a sum, perhaps making a statement that they a not a hit and run company.
Local media will be paying close attention when the R7 is unveiled in KL and again pricing will be the deciding factor for the phones, official statement has already been sent that only R7 Gold Plus will be introduced, a marketing gimmick we have deduced and also its a popular colour among the users. Nevertheless, the gloves are off and the fight for market share in the android palce is heating up with the Koreans, Taiwanese and Chinese all vying for the proverbial cake.
